Dr Ella Toynton

Ella studied Medicine at the University of Cardiff in Wales where she also achieved an intercalated BSc(Hons) in Exercise Physiology, including multiple Masters modules. Upon graduation in 2014, Ella worked in across Wales before moving to New Zealand in 2016 and working in the surgery, Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Hastings Hospital. She has gained further experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and completed the Postgraduate Certificate in O&G. Ella also has postgraduate qualifications in Paediatrics and Skin Cancer Medicine. Ella transitioned from hospital medicine to General Practice in 2019 with a focus on women’s health.
Ella found there was an increasing demand from women to see a female doctor for their health issues, especially for long-acting contraceptive procedures and wishes to enable every woman in Hawke’s Bay to have the opportunity to see a female GP about their health concerns.
Ella is known for her warm and friendly manner, while being thorough and knowledgeable, which makes her popular with patients of all ages.
